Probability of error in MMSE multiuser detection

چکیده
Performance analysis of the minimum-mean-squareerror (MMSE) linear multiuser detector is considered in an environment of nonorthogonal signaling and additive white Gaussian noise. In particular, the behavior of the multiple-access interference (MAI) at the output of the MMSE detector is examined under various asymptotic conditions, including: large signal-tonoise ratio; large near–far ratios; and large numbers of users. These results suggest that the MAI-plus-noise contending with the demodulation of a desired user is approximately Gaussian in many cases of interest. For the particular case of two users, it is shown that the maximum divergence between the output MAIplus-noise and a Gaussian distribution having the same mean and variance is quite small in most cases of interest. It is further proved in this two-user case that the probability of error of the MMSE detector is better than that of the decorrelating linear detector for all values of normalized crosscorrelations not greater than 1 2 2 + p 3 = 0:9659:

Covariance Analysis of a vector tracking GPS receiver based on MMSE multiuser Detection
In high dynamic conditions, using vector tracking loops instead of scalar tracking loops in GPS receivers is proved as an efficient method to compensate the performance. The Minimum Mean Squared Error detector as a multiuser detector is applied in the vector tracking loop for more reliability and efficiency. The Kalman filter does the two tasks of tracking and extracting the navigation data aft...
متن کاملCombined MMSE-SIC Multiuser Detection for STBC-OFDM Systems
In this letter, we propose a combined scheme of minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection and successive interference cancellation (SIC) for multiuser space-time block coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STBC-OFDM) systems. With the same complexity order, the proposed scheme provides significant bit error rate (BER) performance improvement over the linear MMSE multiuser detector....

SDMA (Space-Division Multiple Access) is a MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) based wireless communication network architecture which has the potential to significantly increase the spectral efficiency and the system performance. The maximum likelihood (ML) detection provides the optimal performance, but its complexity increases exponentially with the constellation size of modulation and...
متن کاملIterative nonlinear MMSE multiuser detection
This paper introduces the notion of nonlinear MMSE multiuser detection and shows that MMSE signal estimates followed by single user detectors yield MAP (or minimum probability of error) decisions for CDMA signals. Iterative solutions are proposed for nonlinear MMSE estimation. If interferers’ codes are assumed to be known by the signal estimators for each user, the MMSE solution is shown to be ...

This study mainly focuses on multiuser detection in tracking and data relay satellite (TDRS) system forward link. Minimum mean square error (MMSE) is a low complexity multiuser detection method, but MMSE detector cannot achieve satisfactory bit error ratio and near-far resistance, whereas artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA) is expert in optimization and it can realize the global convergence ...
